In a major milestone, we reached over 100 pre-orders for the V1 and have been blown away by the support shown for us as a new player in the scene.

We will keep you posted with more updates on social media, you may even have seen some of our other design concepts.

Hoo Knives V1 prototype testing, the first week in.

Dear ladies and gentlemen,

Yesterday marked one week since the Hoo Knives V1 prototype landed with us for testing.

Since then we have been putting the knife through its paces, testing the structure and the blade steel.

As testing has ramped up we have sliced our way through paper, cardboard, carpet, medium-density fibreboard and many vegetables, the edge is holding nicely so far, we have been posting lots of videos and pictures of the progress to our Instagram page and story.

Testing continues and the M390 steel + structure is holding up very well so far! It will be taking another beating over the next few days and we will keep you posted with more post and story updates on social media.

The cutting-edge of Hoo Knives V1 is 2.88”, ideally the blade is also under 3” from hilt to tip when the blade is deployed.

The weight of our Hoo Knives V1 prototype is just over 98 grams, an ideal EDC carry weight in our view.

Not too heavy but enough weight to know you have a substantial bit of kit in your pocket or hands.

We disassembled the knife yesterday and gave it a well deserved wee clean after the week of torment it’s had to endure.

We will continue testing and keep you posted on our story and feed throughout the week.

We appreciate your patience throughout the process and hope you have enjoyed our first week of testing with the updates we have been putting out.

To give you an idea of the time frame we are currently looking at, after we complete testing and signing off on the prototypes, we will move into the production stage.

Once production is in place it will be 70 days for the knives to be made and assembled + shipping/postage to the UK and then to the customer.

Once again I would like to thank you all for your continued patience and support throughout the process it’s been humbling, to say the least. ?

Kindest regards,

Hoo Knives.

The Hoo Knives V1 prototype is enjoying testing.

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, the V1 prototype is enjoying testing so far!

Hardware wise this is all you need to strip the prototypes down completely and should be all that’s needed for the production run ?‍♂️

The pivot and scale screws are TORX T6 with the pocket clip and liner screws being Hexagon 2.0 ?

So far the steel is holding up well with our light cut tests, cuts through stuff like chopping butter! ?

Throughout the week we will ramp up the pressure on cutting tests putting it through much heavier use and you can follow our progress on Instagram here – https://www.instagram.com/hoo_knives/

Kind regards,

Hoo Knives

Update 11/05/21 – Hoo Knives V1

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

We wanted to bring you this update to keep you posted on the state of affairs with the development prototypes.

Unfortunately, we reported a small delay before completion due to a Chinese national holiday slowing down the blades heat-treating process and postage at the beginning of this month.

We are happy to say that we now are on track to have the prototypes completed this coming week and will have the logos laser-etched when the blades arrive back from the heat-treatment facility in Yangjiang, Guangdong Province.

Below we have attached a photograph of the current state of play with the scales, they have been completed and received a sandblasted finish to provide more grip.

You can also seen a video of the scales via our Instagram page below.

I would like to personally apologise for the delay in relation to the prototypes once again but please know it will not affect the estimated completion time of four months for the first batch.

We will be sure to keep you fully updated on this and we can’t wait to bring you more videos and photographs once the prototypes are fully completed.

Thank you greatly for your continued support and patience.

Kindest regards,

Hoo Knives.

Update 30/04/21 – Hoo Knives V1

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

Firstly we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has pre-ordered the Hoo Knives V1, we are extremely grateful for your support.

The prototypes of the Hoo Knives V1 are nearing completion.

The expected completion of both prototypes was the end of this month April 2021.

Unfortunately, we must report a small delay before completion of between 5-7days due to a Chinese national holiday slowing down the blades heat-treating process and postage.

The prototypes scales and structure are completed however we are waiting on heat treatment of the two M390 blades. Our blades are sent to Yangjiang, Guangdong Province for heat treatment, due to there being a highly skilled professional heat treatment plant there.

I would like to personally apologise for the delay in relation to the prototypes but please know it will not affect the estimated completion time of four months for the first batch.

We will be sure to keep you fully updated on this.

Thank you greatly for your continued support and patience.

Kindest regards,

Hoo Knives.
