Hoo Knives V1 prototype testing, the first week in.

Dear ladies and gentlemen,

Yesterday marked one week since the Hoo Knives V1 prototype landed with us for testing.

Since then we have been putting the knife through its paces, testing the structure and the blade steel.

As testing has ramped up we have sliced our way through paper, cardboard, carpet, medium-density fibreboard and many vegetables, the edge is holding nicely so far, we have been posting lots of videos and pictures of the progress to our Instagram page and story.

Testing continues and the M390 steel + structure is holding up very well so far! It will be taking another beating over the next few days and we will keep you posted with more post and story updates on social media.

The cutting-edge of Hoo Knives V1 is 2.88”, ideally the blade is also under 3” from hilt to tip when the blade is deployed.

The weight of our Hoo Knives V1 prototype is just over 98 grams, an ideal EDC carry weight in our view.

Not too heavy but enough weight to know you have a substantial bit of kit in your pocket or hands.

We disassembled the knife yesterday and gave it a well deserved wee clean after the week of torment it’s had to endure.

We will continue testing and keep you posted on our story and feed throughout the week.

We appreciate your patience throughout the process and hope you have enjoyed our first week of testing with the updates we have been putting out.

To give you an idea of the time frame we are currently looking at, after we complete testing and signing off on the prototypes, we will move into the production stage.

Once production is in place it will be 70 days for the knives to be made and assembled + shipping/postage to the UK and then to the customer.

Once again I would like to thank you all for your continued patience and support throughout the process it’s been humbling, to say the least. ?

Kindest regards,

Hoo Knives.
