With the popularity of the V3 and after some amazing feedback from The Sharp Show we have decided to proceed with a small test run of fully Stonewashed Hoo V3s.
These will be initially limited to a small number of pieces until we get an understanding of how popular they are. As such, blades will not be numbered but instead feature the blade steel M390 on the blade.
We expect production to be completed around late December with orders to be fulfilled sometime Early – aiming for Jan/Feb 2024. This could be subject to change, we will always keep everyone updated via social media and emails.
The reason we are able to have these made at a much quicker pace than normal is that our manufacturing factory is already currently finishing off work on the Timascus V3s and as such has materials to make blades etc.
It’s with great pleasure we can today announce Hoo Knives has started the production process of a limited run of 100 Timascus V3s.
The results of our poll are clear to us, the demand definitely exists subject to price. With that being taken into account we had some tough negotiations with suppliers to allow us to offer the best end price to customers.
The Timascus V3 will have a pre-order price of £359.99 and retail for £369.99 once pre-orders move onto regular orders, a significantly lower price than we first expected to be able to offer.
Pre-order are now available on our website and production is expected to take 90 days.
All going well we hope to be able to dispatch the first Timascus V3 orders to customers before Christmas 2023. Each Limited Editions Timascus V3 will feature Roman Numerals 1 to 100 as opposed to the #001>#250 numbering on standard production run models. You can Pre-Order a Timascus V3 below:
Stage 1- Production, expected to take 75-90 days to be completed. *IN PROGRESS*
Stage 2- Dispatch to Hoo Knives, Timascus V3s are ready and are on the way to us for further inspection, this is expected to take 15-20 days.
Stage 3- Post Production QC checks & dispatches to customers, we hand check over all Timascus V3s to ensure they meet our high standards and once approved they are made ready for dispatch. The stage is expected to take 7 days.
Stage 4- Orders landing with customers, It’s all been leading up to this and the Timascus V3s arrive with customers. Expected to arrive with customers in time for Christmas 2023.
Update 28/11/23: Production on the Limited Edition Timascus Hoo V3s has been completed. We are awaiting delivery to the Hoo offices before the final pre-dispatch QC checks. A major thank you to everyone who has supported Hoo Knives over 2023. We are now at the final stages and more updates will follow as they land with us and we start the dispatch process.
Number Requests:
Want a specific Roman Numeral for your Timascus V3?
The Hoo Knives team will be trying to accommodate as many people as possible and will fulfil number requests whenever we are able to.
In cases where a number request overlaps with another customer(s) request, an alternative number may be issued.
You can make requests at the bottom of the checkout page under ‘ Order Notes ‘ as shown below. If possible we ask you to give us a first and second choice as an alternative.
To track number requests we will keep a note and mark off each number as it is requested and share this on the progress tracker for everyone to see.
Shown below is an example of the kind of Timascus pattern we will be using known as Raindrop.
The Hoo Knives team wanted to say a major thank you to @the_sharp_show_uk and all the hard-working organisers who helped ensure it took place smoothly and safely, it was absolutely fantastic to meet so many of you and we can’t wait until the next one!😁
After numerous emails and messages in regard to the Timascus Hoo Knives V3, Hoo Knives has decided to consult members of the community who use our products to get a better understanding of if it is something that interests Hoo Knives users:

Hoo Knives V3 Prototype.
Hoo Knives V3 stripped down to show the mechanism.
We are pleased to announce the V2 has now landed. Anyone who has pre-ordered please keep an eye on your email inbox over the next few days for a dispatch notification as we begin to process orders.
In order to get the V2s to customers as quickly as possible, we have taken the decision to post all V2s without specifications cards and instead make the specifications card available online to all V2 owners.
This decision was made because the V2s landed with us much quicker than we expected and with Christmas right around the corner we wanted to ensure the fast dispatch of any pre-orders.
Don’t worry if you still want a physical copy of the specifications card we can post this out to you separately free of charge as soon as they arrive, however for now you will find the digital copy detailing all the specifications below:
?Announcement: We have received many messages of support and we cannot thank you enough for this.
Today I have taken steps to secure the future of Hoo Knives, firstly we have secured a small amount of funding that will be used to put towards the production of the V2.
In all honesty, we don’t have anywhere near the funds needed for a full production run and due to this, I have put the remaining V1s on a discount of £15 to sell as many as possible to use these funds towards the V2 production run.
Secondly, it will be impossible for us to do a V2 production run without your support, meaning we will likely once all details are confirmed and V2s hits production open pre-orders for the V2.
At this stage, we hope that the production run of V2 is available before the end of this year, around November/December, but this could be subject to change.
Please do let us know if this would interest you at all by sharing any comments or questions you might have.
We look forward to hearing what you have to say.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask and we will respond as soon as possible.
It is with great sadness that I must today write this to inform you all Hoo Knives will be putting all future plans on hold due to financial reasons.
With this in mind, all products must be sold and are now on sale on our website. We will continue to operate in a smaller capacity to ensure people receive their goods and any parts they may need in the near future.
We fully intend to remain open in a smaller sense to be available for customers to cover any warranties that come with our V1s, however, due to the financial pressure the business has come under, it’s no longer possible at the time being to proceed with future designs at this moment. At the bottom of this message, I will try to further expand on why this decision has been made.
Due to the rising cost of labour, materials and other business expenses, Hoo Knives doesn’t have the funds to explore future knife designs and projects at this time.
It’s my hope that this could change in the future and I very much wish this will be the case, but for now, everything needs to be put on hold.
When I first started Hoo Knives, it was with the goal of bringing high-class but simple designs to the UK market for EDC use, with the multiple runs we have done of the V1 I am proud to say we have somewhat achieved this.
Hopefully, in the future, we can continue with this goal.
I greatly thank you for the support over the last year, if you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask and we will respond as soon as possible.
We are ready to start dispatching the Stonewashed V1 within the next week or so once I have QC’d all Knives to ensure they are up to the expected standards.
Due to business costs increasing such as material and cost of labour along with tax etc, the price of all V1s have been increased to £134.99.
A few updates have been made to the new Stonewashed V1s.
Updates include:
Updated double detent system.
Updated pocket clip now comes as standard with all V1s. (Stronger than the inital TI variant first issued.)
Chamfering edges on the inside of the handles to give a more smooth feel when in hand on all Stonewashed models.
Blade cutting edge reverted back to the inital 2.90″.
A bigger focus on an extremely sharp edge out of the box.
Below you will find some pictures, I look forward to hearing any responses you may have and if you do have any
Ps. Once again, the Stonewashed Hoo Knives V1 production run consists of 250 Knives, all individually numbered #001-#250 to signify its the first production run of the SW/SW model.
